Principles & funding
How do we earn?
DogRanking is funded by affiliate links: when you buy through a "Where to buy" link, the shop pays us a commission β your price does not change. Every such link is marked (rel="sponsored"), and every product list carries a clear affiliate disclosure.
Why commissions cannot influence ratings
- Order of work: the 0β100 score is finalised from recipe analysis, standards and manufacturer data β before we check where a product is sold or whether the shop runs an affiliate programme.
- No paid placements: manufacturers cannot buy a ranking position, a review or paws. We do not publish sponsored content inside rankings.
- Multiple sellers: we link to at least two retailers where possible β including ones that pay us nothing.
- We buy test samples ourselves β we do not accept free products from manufacturers for scored reviews.
Corrections policy
Got something wrong? Tell us. Every substantive correction is applied with a note and date in the page's changelog.
Health content
We never rank prescription veterinary medicines or affiliate-link to them. Health content is educational and does not replace veterinary advice.
Evidence grades A/B/C/D
Knowledge articles carry an evidence grade: A strong (blinded RCTs/meta-analyses, clinical measures), B moderate (good controlled/cohort studies), C weak/emerging (surveys, cross-sectional, directional funding), D insufficient/marketing. Owner surveys cap at C β regardless of sample size.
